Job summary

AppFolio is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a 6-person cross-functional team focused on enhancing the accounting module of the AppFolio Property Manager. You will own features enabling Accounts Payable automation and AI capabilities, onboard quickly to our stack, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to execute initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in CS or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.
• Hands-on experience building web-based SaaS applications.
• Ability to drive impact autonomously through the full SDLC.
• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails and experience with Ruby/Java/Go/Python.
• Experience with AI-driven development and integrating LLMs into production workflows.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional product and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable, web-based solutions to solve customer problems.
• Formulate, implement, and optimize algorithms and DB queries for SaaS scalability.
• Implement new features and optimize performance.
• Use TDD, code reviews, CI/CD to deliver high-quality software.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product owners, designers, and customers.
• Leverage agile practices to release small batches of value continuously.
