Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Senior Software Developer for a 100% remote U.S. based role in the Veterans Affairs department.

The candidate will engineer, deploy, and optimize Edifecs-based EDI platforms, drive performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevSecOps and cloud engineers. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in EDI/healthcare or enterprise ops, strong AWS skills, and superb communication to coordinate with business stakeholders.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in EDI, healthcare, or enterprise operations.
EDIFECS hands-on experience with X12 transactions and HIPAA considerations.
Strong AWS experience and cloud architecture knowledge.
Proven ability to communicate complex technical decisions to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

Administer and optimize Edifecs platform components (XEServer, XEngine, TPM, SpecBuilder).
Configure EDI gateways, AS2/SFTP/FTPS/HTTPS channels, and partner integrations.
Develop and tune batch/workflow processing and JVM performance.
Support releases, environment refreshes, and security/compliance governance.
Collaborate with DevSecOps, Cloud, and business teams for reliable operations.
