Braintrust is seeking a Sr Software Engineer (remote from Costa Rica) to own domain APIs and SDK contracts. You will migrate legacy services into NestJS, maintain data integrity, and drive RFCs and migration plans, while collaborating across teams on authentication, authorization, and data governance.

You’ll work with TypeScript/Node.js at production depth, leverage AWS serverless tooling, and design robust REST/GraphQL services with PostgreSQL backing.

Formación

• Must have TypeScript and Node.js at production depth.
• PostgreSQL in depth: schema design, migrations, indexing, EXPLAIN ANALYZE.
• AWS serverless and event-driven design: Lambda, SQS with FIFO queues and dead-letter queues, SNS, Parameter Store.
• API design: REST/OpenAPI with generated typed SDKs, plus GraphQL for older services.
• Authentication/authorization: RBAC, Okta, central IAM, token-based partner access (DPoP).
• Testing discipline: Jest with Testcontainers-backed integration tests.

Responsabilidades

• Owning the user, role and organization domains; building and evolving APIs and SDK contracts.
• Migrating off legacy services; moving logic from serverless/GraphQL to NestJS domain services.
• Protecting data integrity; lifecycle automation driven by SAP data; backfills and large account migrations.
• Code review across 35–65% of PRs; ensuring quality and consistency.
• Cross-team design work; RFCs and migration plans; lead on auth and data integrity questions.
