Job summary

Bankrate is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable, secure systems powering our digital experiences. You will shape architecture, champion standards, and own substantial pieces of our platform with high autonomy.

You will collaborate with product and design, mentor peers, and drive medium-to-large initiatives from design through production, emphasizing TypeScript, AWS, and modern cloud practices.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in multiple programming languages with deep TypeScript experience.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience designing APIs and cloud-based services, with secure, scalable design.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable systems with autonomy.
• Evolve technical architecture and engineering patterns per standards.
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for faster, reliable deployments.
• Collaborate with product/design to translate business goals into work.
• Scope, estimate, and deliver medium-to-large initiatives with minimal oversight.
• Mentor engineers through reviews, pairing, and design discussions.
• Contribute to team engineering practices and standards.
• Evaluate tools/tech to improve outcomes and share insights with the team.
