Job summary

IRIS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead technology programs, own end-to-end delivery, and mentor teammates. The role focuses on payroll and HR features, cross-functional collaboration, and cloud-based system architecture.

Remote work from anywhere, with UK business hours alignment and permanent full-time employment. Candidates should have a proven track record of 8+ years in software development across client and server sides, hands-on CI/CD experience, and strong cloud knowledge

Qualifications

• Growth mindset and passion to grow knowledge across the division.
• At least 8 years’ experience of software development on both client and server-side applications.
• Hands on experience with developing build and deployment pipelines, such as ADO, GitHub Actions.
• Hands on experience with infrastructure as code, for example Bicep or Terraform.
• Hands on experience monitoring and resolving production issues.
• Proficient in at least 1 programming language such as C# .Net for desktop and cloud systems.
• Wide range of experience with and knowledge of cloud systems
• Experience with IaaS and SaaS Cloud Architecture, such as Azure, Amazon web services

Responsibilities

• Leading technology programs, defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation and successful on-time delivery.
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques, and coding standards.
• Communicate schedules, priorities, and status to Engineering Lead in a timely fashion.
• Full lifecycle responsibility from Requirements Analysis, through Software Design, Implementation, Test, and Integration.
• Close collaboration with the architecture, product and support teams.
• Technical ownership of supporting and developing payroll and HR features.
• Technical ownership of security, stability and efficiency of the platform.
• Develop tools and processes to improve software engineering productivity, including build pipelines and infrastructure/application deployment.
• Monitor and resolve platform stability issues, efficiency issues and alerts in production environment.
