Job summary

Buildertrend is seeking a Senior Web Developer to shape digital experiences for residential construction professionals. You will own major web initiatives from strategy through deployment, working with Marketing, Design, Analytics, Revenue Operations and Product Engineering to improve performance, accessibility, and security across public-facing sites.

You will build and maintain WordPress themes, plugins, Gutenberg blocks, and reusable components using PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional web or software development experience.
• Experience supporting B2B SaaS websites is strongly preferred.
• Deep experience building WordPress applications with PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience developing custom WordPress themes, plugins, Gutenberg blocks and reusable components.
• Experience with modern JavaScript development, including React.
• Experience evaluating or migrating CMS platforms and web architectures (headless or decoupled).
• Experience implementing automated testing with Playwright or similar.
• Working knowledge of SQL, REST APIs, webhooks and third-party integrations.
• Strong understanding of web performance, data privacy, security and accessibility (OWASP, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, WCAG).
• Ability to take ambiguous problems and propose pragmatic paths while mentoring others.

Responsibilities

• Partner with marketing, design, Revenue Operations and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain functionality across Buildertrend’s public-facing websites.
• Own complex web initiatives from discovery through implementation, deployment and measurement.
• Develop and maintain WordPress themes, plugins, Gutenberg blocks and reusable components.
• Shape web architecture by evaluating CMS platforms and headless/decoupled approaches.
• Keep high-traffic sites fast, secure, accessible and protected from bot abuse.
• Monitor site health, investigate production issues and drive incident resolution.
• Lead code reviews and mentor other developers.
• Leverage AI tools appropriately to accelerate problem solving while maintaining quality.
