Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Release Channel to balance release velocity with production stability across multi-tiered channels in GCP BigQuery. You will help define long-term goals, drive multi-year roadmaps, and address capacity fragmentation in a high-scale distributed system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 5 years of software development experience in one or more languages.
• 3 years building large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or compute/storage tech.
• 3 years testing, maintaining, or launching software products with design/architecture exp.
• Experience in Backend, Cloud, and Large-Scale Distributed Systems.

Responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code.
• Lead design reviews with peers to decide on technologies.
• Review code from others and ensure best practices and quality.
• Contribute to documentation and update content as products evolve.
• Triaging issues and debugging to assess impact on hardware, network, or services.
