Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace unit at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD seeks a Senior Software Engineer to support IFF programs. The role focuses on embedded C++ development in a real-time, multithreaded environment, with Agile team collaboration and frequent integration and testing.

Security clearance is required to start, with responsibilities spanning development, reviews, and cross-functional teamwork. You will work on multiple tasks, contribute to code quality, and mentor peers as needed while

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience in C++ software application development in Real Time Embedded Systems.
• Understanding of configuration control, collaborative development, and formal processes.
• Experience in performing data analysis and problem solving (e.g. anomaly investigation).
• Experience in DevSecOps.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required after the start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on multiple tasks in support of software development.
• Work collaboratively in an agile environment and on programs using the agile lifecycle development.
• Work with C++ code in a multithreaded embedded environment.
• Improve code quality by performing code reviews and good software practice.
• Support integration, verification, and in some cases field work.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams for a unified solution.
