Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD seeks a Senior Software Engineer to support Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) programs. You will work on embedded C++ in a multithreaded environment within an agile software team, performing integration and test.

The role emphasizes code quality, collaboration with subject matter experts, and occasional field work. A DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required; relocation is possible and RTX benefits apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience in C++ software development in Real Time Embedded Systems.
• Understanding of configuration control, collaborative development, and formal processes.
• Experience in data analysis and problem solving (e.g. anomaly investigation).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required after the start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work on multiple tasks in support of software development.
• Collaborate in an agile environment and on programs using the agile lifecycle development.
• Work with C++ code in a multithreaded embedded environment.
• Improve code quality by performing code reviews and good software practice.
• Support integration, verification, and in some cases field work.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams for a unified solution.
