Job summary

e184 is seeking a Senior Engineer to design and develop software that integrates experimental hardware for ex utero gestation research. You will build intuitive interfaces that control perfusion, imaging, and environmental systems, and ensure reliable operation in a fast-moving startup.

You will own software from interface design through deployment, collaborating with biologists, engineers, and hardware teams to translate complex workflows into robust control systems that advance groundbreaking

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering with significant UI/UX focus for scientific apps.
• Experience designing complex UI for technical or scientific applications.
• Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue or similar).
• Experience interfacing software with hardware systems and real-time control.
• Ability to independently drive software projects from concept through deployment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills in interdisciplinary environments.

Responsibilities

• Design unified control interfaces for perfusion, imaging, and environmental systems.
• Integrate hardware systems and sensors for coordinated operation.
