Job summary

Lockheed Martin in King of Prussia, PA, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for radar modeling and simulation. You will develop high-performance C++ software supporting radar modeling, scene modeling, signal construction, and processing within system-of-systems environments.

You will mentor engineers, influence technical direction, perform design reviews, and lead agile tasks from sprint planning to delivery, ensuring robust, scalable radar simulation capabilities for DoD programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or related STEM degree.
  • 5+ years related experience in software development and radar/simulation environments.
  • Experience with C++ or other strong OO programming languages (e.g., Java, C#).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship required.

  • Collaborate with the technical lead and software/systems architects to guide design and integration decisions while performing hands-on C++ development.
  • Design, implement, and maintain high performance C++ software for radar modeling, scene modeling, signal construction and processing, and radar control processing components.
  • Participate in design and code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve product quality.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote systems thinking across the team.
  • Lead engineers in translating customer needs into Agile tasks and participate in sprint planning, story breakdowns, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Verify software changes and regression tests to ensure correct behavior and analyze system data before delivery.

Who You Are

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Radar Modeling and Simulation group, you will develop high performance C++ software. Your contributions will directly support radar modeling, scene modeling, signal construction, signal processing, and radar control processing components within simulation and digital twin environments. Your software will operate as part of a system of systems integrating with external components to enable high volume and high fidelity radar modeling and simulations.

You will apply a systems engineering perspective to ensure delivery of robust radar simulations. You will mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and collaborate with the technical lead and software and systems architects to deliver reliable solutions.

What You Will Do (The Work)
  • Collaborate with the technical lead and software/systems architects to guide design and integration decisions while performing hands on C++ development.
  • Design, implement, and maintain high performance C++ software for radar modeling, scene modeling, signal construction and processing, and radar control processing components.
  • Participate in design and code reviews actively providing and receiving constructive feedback to foster a continuous improvement mindset and strengthen the quality of our products.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster systems thinking across the team
  • Lead other engineers in the process of translating customer needs into actionable Agile tasks and actively participate in sprint planning, story break downs, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives
  • Verify and interpret software changes, including regression testing, to ensure modifications produce intended system behavior. Analyze system level data to build confidence before delivering solutions to customers and downstream teams
  • Maintain and improve legacy codebases by applying and promoting software engineering practices
  • Serve as a technical liaison with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support automation, regression testing, and tooling improvements

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or related STEM degree with minimum 5 years related experience.
  • Experience with C++ or other strong object oriented programming experience (e.g. Java, C# or similar languages)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship required.
Desired Skills
  • Advanced degree in Computer

Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent.

  • Strong mathematics background in linear algebra, statistical analysis and signal processing.
  • Functional knowledge of Radar systems, subsystems and designs with familiarity of design tools for radar modeling.
  • Radar systems development experience including algorithms, software, data analysis, and modeling and simulation.
  • Technical leadership experience with program execution.
  • Demonstrated analytical, applied mathematics and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Active DoD Secret level clearance or higher.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00
