Job summary

Lockheed Martin’s Rotary & Mission Systems in Camden, NJ seeks a highly skilled Radar Systems Engineer to design, integrate, and test high-performance radar systems. You will translate customer needs into software specs, develop simulations, and verify systems in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment.

We value strong analytic and communication skills, leadership, and experience with C++, Matlab, scripting, and DoD-quality processes. US DoD SECRET clearance is required with U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or equivalent with 8 years of related experience.
  • Radar system design/development experience, including signal processing, algorithms, software, data analysis or modeling & simulation.
  • High proficiency in C++ or equivalent object-oriented computing language, Matlab, and scripting languages.
  • Experience in requirements management using tools like IBM DOORs.
  • Strong technical leadership with ability to plan and execute engineering tasks.
  • Experience with systems engineering, software and system analysis, verification and validation, or modeling and simulation.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced technologies to develop radar solutions.
  • Translate customer requirements into radar system software specs.
  • Develop models and simulations to assess system performance.
  • Conduct system verification and support certification activities.
  • Represent the organization on contracts and interface with customers and partners.

The Work

Radar Systems Engineering within Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) is seeking a candidate to support the design, integration, and test verification of high performance radar systems. The successful candidate will have strong analytic and communication skills, and work well in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.

The Radar Systems Engineer Will
  • Apply advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to develop revolutionary radar solutions,
  • Perform functional analysis, design trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate customer requirements into Radar system software specifications,
  • Develop models and detailed simulations to assess system performance,
  • Conduct system verification and support certification activities,
  • Represent the organization on contracts and interface with internal and external customers, government lab partners, program and senior leadership, and multidisciplinary engineering teams on significant technical matters,
  • Providing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline assistance, tooling expertise, and direction,
  • Automating repeatable tasks through the use of scripting languages,
  • Mentor early career engineers in the systems engineering activities required to deliver products to stakeholders and customers alike.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or equivalent degree combined with 8 years of related experience.
  • Radar system design/development experience, including signal processing, algorithms, software, data analysis or modeling & simulation
  • High proficiency in C++ or equivalent object-oriented computing language, Matlab, and, scripting languages.
  • Experience in requirements management and derivation using tools similar to IBM DOORs
  • Strong technical leadership skills with demonstrated ability to plan, track and execute engineering tasks to meet program objectives.
  • Demonstrated experience in two or more of the following areas: systems engineering, software and system analysis, requirements development, verification and validation, trade studies, modeling and simulation, or integration and test.
  • Experience working with customers to drive complex technical issues/challenges to closure.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship required.
Desired Skills
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams to complete technical objectives on schedule and within budget.
  • Radar systems development experience including algorithms, software, data analysis, and modeling and simulation.
  • Demonstrated analytical, applied mathematics

and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment, familiarity of toolsets similar to JIRA.
  • CAM/EVM fundamentals with experience in staffing projections, full software product development lifecycle, inchstone planning and proposal/new contract planning.
Pay Information
  • $110500.00 - $208344.00
