Infleqtion seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development and productization of software interfacing with quantum and embedded hardware. You will drive full-stack development, establish strong software engineering practices, and guide a global team to production-ready systems.

The role emphasizes frontend in React/Next.js, backend in Python (FastAPI), and collaboration with embedded engineers. You’ll operate in a fast-paced, results-driven startup environment with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong experience with React and Next.js frontend frameworks.
• Experience with FastAPI or similar modern Python web frameworks.
• Familiarity with embedded software concepts (device drivers, low-level APIs, hardware communication protocols).
• Demonstrated experience leading software development teams or acting as a technical lead.
• Deep understanding of modern development workflows (Git, Jira, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing).

Responsibilities

• Lead global software development efforts for quantum sensing products.
• Serve as technical lead guiding day-to-day operations and priorities.
• Collaborate with project managers and technical leads to plan milestones.
• Lead daily stand-ups, manage Jira, ensure sprint goals.
• Oversee software engineering best practices: code reviews, testing, documentation, CI/CD.
• Act as liaison between software team and multidisciplinary project team.
• Develop frontend with React/Next.js for performance and scalability.
• Own backend REST API in Python (FastAPI) with integration to hardware.
• Contribute to Rust-based middleware or driver software.
• Collaborate with embedded engineers for hardware/software interaction.
• Participate in architecture discussions and design docs.
• Support transition from prototype to production-ready systems.
