Job summary

Infleqtion is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the team building the control system software for Infleqtion's quantum computers. The ideal candidate is an experienced backend engineer with a strong background in creating robust and scalable scientific applications.

You will design, build, and maintain backend services and control systems that drive our neutral atom quantum machines, collaborating with scientists and engineers to deliver high‑quality software at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, applied math, physics or related field.
• 5+ years of work experience in software engineering.
• Experience with Python and at least one compiled language, willingness to learn Rust.
• Experience with Linux and Docker virtualization.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with testing, debugging, version control, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services and frameworks that control and calibrate quantum computers.
• Collaborate with scientists, opto-mechanical engineers, and electrical engineers to solve complex problems.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in engineering and code quality.
• Lead code and design reviews and uphold engineering standards.
