Job summary

Peregrine Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Product Experiences in Washington, D.C. You'll own major features across the Peregrine platform, including Search, Dossier, Charts, Dashboards, Maps, and more.

You will work with design and PM to ship fast, intuitive, and trustworthy experiences, turning vast data into actionable insights. The role emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and crafting high-quality software across a modern stack (React, TypeScript, Python, Django).

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of experience with cross-functional software development teams.
• Experience shipping production-grade, user-facing software.
• Strong frontend fundamentals (React/TypeScript) and full-stack ability.
• Ability to write robust, well-tested code.
• Solid understanding of architecting and scaling distributed software systems.
• Located in San Francisco or Washington, D.C. and open to working in office 4 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Own large portions of the user-facing platform from start to finish.
• Ship fast, intuitive, trustworthy experiences across features like Search and Dossier.
• Collaborate with design and PM to ship end-to-end features.
• Design and implement real-time, collaborative maps and dashboards.
• Ensure latency, interaction design, and resilience are top priorities.
