Job summary

Taskrabbit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Post-Booking team in a hybrid role, focused on high-performance Node.js services and AI-driven enhancements. You’ll modernize microservice infrastructure, raise the quality bar, and shape the customer experience after the initial booking.

You will define technical roadmaps, mentor engineers, and drive observability and testing across distributed systems, with a strong emphasis on money-handling and trust.

Qualifications

• 4 years of professional software engineering with frontend and backend experience.
• Extensive experience with Node.js and microservice architecture; familiarity with Ruby on Rails is a plus.
• Strong SQL and data modeling for financial use cases (Postgres, Snowflake).
• Hands-on experience with async/event-driven systems (Kafka) and microservice architecture.
• Proven track record designing and owning observability/alerting for critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect the multi-quarter technical roadmap for Post-Booking domains, driving strategy and evolving scalable system architecture, APIs, and data models.
• Tech Lead: lead complex, cross-team technical initiatives.
• Solver: translate ambiguous business goals into clear technical strategies, designs, and experiments.
• Multiplier: mentor engineers, champion high-quality testing and AI practices, and produce durable documentation.
• Champion AI-Driven Development: lead the adoption of Spec-Driven Development leveraging AI tools.
