Job summary

ResortPass, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to lead the technical work on our Booking Platform and APIs. You will own the API day-to-day roadmap, write production code, and collaborate with teams to support distribution partners and AI agents within a versioned API.

The role evolves a Rails and Postgres-based booking system used by millions. You will ensure pricing and inventory correctness, prevent overselling, handle retries, and improve reliability while shipping quickly

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience or equivalent impact.
• Designed transactional systems, external APIs, or integration platforms.
• Understanding of relational modeling, concurrency, consistency, and distributed failures.
• Turn complex business rules into clear boundaries, contracts, and invariants.
• Lead an important system as its primary builder while collaborating on decisions.
• Care about correctness, testing, observability, and safe rollouts.

Responsibilities

• Build and launch the external ResortPass API with stable, versioned contracts.
• Ensure safe operation under real failures with idempotency, recovery, and reconciliation.
• Evolve the core booking domain, modelling products, schedules, prices, inventory, and bookings.
• Ensure extensibility to support new categories using shared booking models.
• Define data contracts for inventory visibility via OpenSearch.
• Set targets for reliability and latency; add tests, metrics, dashboards, alerts, and runbooks.
• Mentor teammates and translate partner needs into durable platform capabilities.
