Job summary

Fivetran is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Platform Ops team to empower developer productivity through tooling, environments, and observability. You’ll build reusable platform capabilities and self-serve workflows adopted across teams.

You’ll partner with engineering to drive adoption, measure impact, and deliver end-to-end improvements across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with a focus on speed, reliability, and reducing operational toil.

Qualifications

• Professional software engineering experience in Python and/or Go.
• Experience building developer productivity tooling (CI, build tooling, portals, automation).
• Experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong fundamentals: testing, code review, debugging, and operating production services.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-team environment.

Responsibilities

• Build internal tools and services in Python and/or Go.
• Build tooling for our internal developer platform (self-service workflows, interfaces).
• Add automation across all three major cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and GCP).
• Develop AI-based workflows to improve developer experience.
• Improve observability with metrics, logs, traces.
• Automate common engineering workflows (scaffolding, environment setup, releases).
• Improve observability for platform services (metrics, logs, traces).
• Integrate tools into workflows (CLI, Slack, GitHub, dashboards).
• Participate in on-call and drive follow-up automation.
