Job summary

Linktree is seeking a Software Engineer focused on payment platforms to optimize payment flows, reduce latency, and ensure PCI DSS compliance. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement APIs with providers and maintain secure payment processing pipelines.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in Python/Java/C++, payment gateway integrations, and modern cloud-based payment solutions, with a proactive approach to security and fraud prevention.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience as a Software Engineer with focus on payment platforms and optimization.
• Strong understanding of payment processing workflows, protocols, and PCI DSS.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, C++ for payment platforms.
• Experience with payment gateway integrations and APIs.
• Knowledge of databases and data modeling related to payments.
• Familiarity with fraud prevention and risk management in payments.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and high-quality work.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Knowledge of mobile payment technologies and cloud-based payments.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements in payments industry.

Responsibilities

• Payment Platform Optimization: collaborate to analyze, design, and implement enhancements to payment platforms.
• Improve recurring payment performance and reliability across subscription lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all payment activities.
• Performance Enhancement: optimize pipelines to reduce latency and increase throughput; monitor performance.
• Security and Fraud Prevention: implement robust security measures and stay updated on threats; detect and prevent fraud.
• Integration and API Development: work with third-party providers to integrate APIs; develop and maintain APIs for processing and reconciliation.
• Payment Platform Monitoring: implement monitoring/alerting, respond to incidents, maintain logs and docs.
