Job summary

CompanyCam, a remote-first software company serving contractors nationwide, seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails/React) for the Monetization team. You’ll build backend systems, support frontend efforts, and mentor peers, helping scale a growing engineering culture.

You’ll work with a cross-functional team across product, design, and engineering to deliver high-impact features while maintaining code quality and robust tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Ruby on Rails and relational databases.
• Experience with React and frontend/backend full-stack work.
• Familiarity with Redis, PostgreSQL, and Sidekiq in production.
• Interest in mentoring and improving engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex features on Ruby on Rails, Postgres, GraphQL, and React.
• Lead refactoring and reliability improvements to reduce technical debt.
• Shape architecture and drive long-term improvements across services.
• Maintain high code quality, testing coverage, and documentation.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineers to plan feature direction.
• Mentor teammates and grow the team's capabilities.
