Job summary

UST in Mason, Ohio, is seeking a Software Engineer (Developer III) with 5–8 years of hands-on experience to design, build, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications. You will develop RESTful APIs and microservices, work in Agile teams, and ensure secure, scalable solutions.

You will participate in architecture discussions, review code for quality and security, and support CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver critical business capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong OO design principles and best practices.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and integrating distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with Git, version control practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-quality software applications.
• Develop and enhance RESTful APIs, microservices, and application components.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex application issues across development and production environments.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, QA Engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver requirements.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes.
• Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide production support and participate in incident resolution when required.
