Job summary

General Motors Global Manufacturing Electrical & SDV seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support production-grade applications that enhance manufacturing operations. You will work across UIs, APIs, integrations, and data platforms to deliver scalable solutions for a global manufacturing network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing and supporting production software applications.
• Hands-on experience developing full-stack applications using Python and React.
• Experience designing and supporting REST APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and data modeling, performance tuning.
• Experience deploying, monitoring, and supporting enterprise apps.
• Experience using GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development.
• Strong problem-solving skills across multiple layers of an application.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Comfortable in evolving environments with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications that support manufacturing operations and business-critical workflows.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable software solutions from concept through production.
• Lead technical design discussions and influence architecture across applications, integrations, and platforms.
• Build and maintain user interfaces, APIs, integrations, and database solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while supporting deployments and releases.
• Provide technical leadership through code reviews, solution design, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor engineers and help elevate technical capability across the team.
• Drive improvements in performance, reliability, maintainability, security, and user experience.
• Partner with manufacturing, software, and business teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Support critical production incidents, including after-hours support when needed.
