Job summary

Compass is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Lead Nurturing & Engagement team. You will design and build systems powering automated re-engagement flows, unclaimed lead management, and lead readiness scoring, leveraging AWS Connect and a multi-channel communications platform.

You will collaborate with data and ML teams, craft scalable microservices, and ensure high reliability through testing, monitoring, and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years developing high-performance software applications.
• Experience with Python or NodeJS development.
• Experience with gRPC, Thrift, and other server-to-server communication protocols.
• 3+ years using AWS / cloud technologies.
• High proficiency designing and implementing microservices that are well tested, fault tolerant, and scalable.
• Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
• Strong communication skills and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the pre-CRM nurturing pipeline — automated flows that move leads from cold to warm to hot before agent assignment.
• Own and operate the AWS Connect integration for live engagement of complex or high-value leads.
• Build and maintain unclaimed lead management with automated escalation and re-engagement.
• Develop lead readiness scoring signals and models for timely agent assignment.
• Architect automated nurture sequences across SMS, email, and voice channels.
• Collaborate with data and ML teams to incorporate behavioral signals into nurturing decisions.
• Operate in a scalable engineering culture with decoupled systems and CI/CD/testing/monitoring.
