Abbott is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to lead design, development, and testing of software applications for Abbott Cancer Diagnostics. This role develops expert design concepts, creates robust debugging strategies, and mentors junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, CS, IS, Math, or Engineering; or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of software development design and development, and domain skills.
• Experience with object-oriented programming.
• RESTful web services, Postgres/SQL Server, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).
• Experience designing apps that access cloud-based frameworks (Azure, AWS).
• Familiar with Agile tools; JIRA and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and testing of software for Abbott Cancer Diagnostics.
• Mentor junior team members and communicate with stakeholders.
• Ensure application quality and take key design decisions with minimal oversight.
• Develop software in a cross-functional team following design controls and engineering practices.
