Job summary

AeroVironment in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to oversee the design, development and testing of software for new products and cloud-based tools.

In a fast-moving Agile environment you will plan and lead software design reviews, write clear documentation, and mentor junior engineers to improve code quality.

The role requires strong OO design skills with experience in C#/.Net, Java or C++, and a track record of delivering on time while collaborating across multiple teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field
8–12 years of relevant Windows/Linux application software development
Expertise in C#/.Net, Java, C++, or Web UI
Experience writing unit tests and debugging code
Familiarity with structured lifecycle development and Agile processes
Knowledge of source control tools SVN/Git and common IDEs
Willingness to travel locally occasionally

Responsibilities

Lead software design reviews and mentor engineers
Develop and test software per lifecycle processes
Create design documentation and ensure coding standards
Deliver on time per project schedule and budget
Collaborate with multiple teams to reuse software across programs
Support and guide junior engineers and other personnel
