Job summary

AV is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in Huntsville to design, develop, and test software systems for new products and cloud-based tools. You will work in a fast-paced Agile environment, mentoring other engineers and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires 8–12 years of experience in Windows/Linux development, strong object-oriented design, and expertise in C#/.NET, Java, or C++. A willingness to travel locally is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics or equivalent
• Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience in Windows or Linux application software development
• Expertise in C#/.NET, Java, C++, or Web UI
• Experience writing unit tests and debugging code
• Familiar with formal lifecycle development process
• Experience with Agile Software Development Process Management
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Familiar with SVN and Git and common IDEs/debuggers
• Willingness to travel locally (Occasionally)

Responsibilities

• Work within a defined software life cycle development process
• Participate in and lead software design reviews
• Create software design documentation
• Write code and unit tests according to standards
• Deliver work on time per schedule and budget
• Support and derive algorithms from requirements
• Collaborate with multiple teams to reuse software
• Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers
• Coordinate activities of team members as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
