Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands‑on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, or Go) with strong AWS experience.
• Strong experience with AWS services to host APIs, run standalone applications, enable inter‑application messaging, and implement event‑driven services.
• Experience organizing Terraform workspaces and developing Terraform code (IaC).
• Experience designing and developing microservices and backend services.
• Experience designing backend data models and working with databases.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of enterprise‑authorized AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., coding, code review, test acceleration, troubleshooting).
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical guidance to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code; reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Drives adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Establishes validation standards for AI-assisted workflows and promotes reuse across the SDLC/toolchain.
• Influences product design, application functionality, and operations through architecture decisions.
• Serves as a subject matter expert in focus areas and mentors engineers.
• Contributes to enterprise SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices.
