Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join Corporate Technology, delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, scalable way. You will guide teams, design solutions in Java/Python, and advance AI-assisted development practices across AWS and Kubernetes.

Candidates should have 5+ years of hands-on experience delivering system design and application development in large corporate environments, with strong cloud and security focus.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficiency in Java or Python as a primary development language, with experience in large corporate environments
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with ability to evaluate AI outputs
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including security considerations
• Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment
• Exposure to agile methodologies and CI/CD
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker in AWS environments
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of AI-assisted software development tools and coaching teams
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use and secure handling of data

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to business and technical teams
• Develop and troubleshoot software across Java, Python, Node.js in distributed cloud environments
• Write secure, high-quality production code with peer reviews
• Design and troubleshoot software considering upstream/downstream systems in AWS/Kubernetes
• Promote AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed
• Apply SDLC tools including AI-assisted development to improve automation and value
• Drive decisions influencing product design and technical operations
• Serve as SME in areas of focus
• Contribute to engineering community and firmwide frameworks and practices
