Job summary
Valar Atomics is building the operating system for its advanced nuclear framework in Torrance, CA, with travel to its Utah pilot plant. The Senior Software Engineer will collaborate with engineers across disciplines to design and deliver full-stack software that accelerates reactor design, fuel manufacturing, licensing, and plant operations.
You will own deployment, observability, and CI/CD, while mentoring engineers and guiding technical direction for a growing team.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software development experience in production.
- Experience designing scalable systems end-to-end.
- Experience with AI coding agents and observability.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build full-stack software systems and infrastructure.
- Develop rich web interfaces used daily by engineers and operators.
- Integrate PLM, ERP, MES, and other systems via REST/GraphQL.
- Create tooling to reduce manual document handling and ensure traceability.
- Own deployment, observability, and on-call for services.
- Design data models and access boundaries across teams.
- Lead design reviews and mentor engineers; evaluate AI outputs.
