Job summary

Abbott in Lake Forest, IL is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Test to design and automate tests for informatics products. You will act as an SME for automation, develop test scripts, and help shape the automation strategy across Core Lab divisions.

The role requires hands-on QA in a regulated environment, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior testers in a fast-paced setting on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 2+ years of Software Quality Assurance in a regulated industry.
• Moderate knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Moderate understanding of test-driven methodologies.
• Strong communication, analytical and multi-tasking abilities.
• Experience with test automation frameworks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for agile product research and development teams in automation practices.
• Design, script, and automate test cases for server, web, cloud, and mobile informatics products with cross-functional teams.
• Design and perform manual test cases and informal testing.
• Design and maintain test automation framework.
• Identify coverage, boundary and regression analysis to assess testing adequacy.
• Understand architecture and integration points to assess risks before creating test cases.
• Lead testing efforts in automation and provide guidance to other testers.
• Mentor junior team members and ensure proper quality processes are followed.
