Job summary

Abbott's Diagnostics is seeking a Senior Software Integration Test Engineer in Lake County, IL (or Irving, TX) to perform software integration testing for an automated IVD system used for blood and plasma screening.

You will collaborate with development teams, develop test plans, execute tests on the instrument in the lab, and help drive Agile SDLC processes. Travel is minimal (up to 5%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading complex system and risk analysis.
• Ability to lead and utilize data to make decisions and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Systems and /or assay development principles and concepts.
• Experience in understanding and complying with applicable regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to apply principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
• Demonstrated Customer Focus, making their needs a primary focus for one's actions.

Responsibilities

• Perform software integration testing for an automated IVD system.
• Develop integration test plans and test scenarios and perform testing on the target instrument in the lab.
• Collaborate with other Software Integration Test Engineers to develop integration test plans and test scenarios.
• Perform exploratory testing and system-level end-to-end integration incorporating customer day-to-day scenarios.
• Investigate and report unexpected events, issues, or software bugs; verify fixes.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior members of the team.
