Job summary

LexisNexis Reed Tech is hiring for a senior software engineer to contribute across the full development lifecycle on the Web Access Management and Identity & Access Management platform. You will design, implement, and test backend services (Java/Spring/Micronaut) and frontend components (Angular/TypeScript), while helping replatform legacy services to Micronaut on AWS.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.
• Proficiency in Java / J2EE with hands-on Spring Framework / Spring Boot and/or Micronaut.
• Experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs; familiarity with clean/hexagonal architecture and SOLID principles.
• Proficiency in frontend development with JavaScript / TypeScript and a modern framework (Angular preferred); solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JSP.
• Relational databases (Oracle and/or PostgreSQL) and ability to write SQL; exposure to NoSQL (DynamoDB) a plus.
• Cloud platform experience (AWS preferred) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and web servers (Apache, NGINX); Linux/UNIX environments.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, MFA, and identity federation.
• Knowledge of web app security principles (OWASP).
• Git and code repository best practices; DevOps processes.
• Build tooling (Gradle and/or Maven) and package management (npm).
• Test-driven development and code coverage (Jacoco, SonarQube).
• Experience with messaging/event-driven systems (SQS, Kinesis, EventBridge, Step Functions) a plus.
• Knowledge of Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
• Ability to write and review detailed specifications for components of moderate complexity.
• Ability to complete moderately complex bug fixes.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interface with product managers, architects, and teammates to finalize requirements for identity, entitlement, authentication, and access-token services.
• Write and review portions of specifications and design documents for moderately complex components.
• Translate product requirements into scalable software designs with teammates.
• Design, implement, and unit-test backend services (Java / Spring / Micronaut) and frontend components (Angular / TypeScript).
• Contribute to replatforming legacy services to Micronaut microservices, applying clean/hexagonal architecture and SOLID principles.
• Build and maintain secure RESTful APIs and integrations across OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, and MFA flows.
• Apply secure coding practices, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Gradle).
• Author unit, integration, and end-to-end tests (JUnit, Mockito, Cypress).
