Job summary

LexisNexis Reed Tech is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to perform complex research and design across multiple systems. You will mentor junior engineers, translate user requests into scalable software solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.

Responsibilities include defining requirements, writing detailed specs, implementing best practices, and working in Agile environments while leveraging cloud platforms such as AWS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS strongly preferred).
• Strong proficiency with data manipulation language and optimization techniques.
• Strong understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling.
• Knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems.
• Expertise in Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, .Net, and Python.

Responsibilities

• Interface with technical personnel to finalize requirements.
• Write and review detailed specifications for complex components.
• Translate product requirements into software designs with team collaboration.
• Implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews.
• Work in Agile, Waterfall, or mixed environments with stakeholders.
• Mentor entry-level engineers on methodologies and optimization.
• Design and work with complex data models.
• Mentor less-senior developers on development practices.
