Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the role of Senior Software Engineer in Cambridge, MA. The role involves designing and implementing authenticated and identity-focused web applications, contributing to architecture, development, and testing, and enhancing the platform with new capabilities.

The position supports telecommuting from anywhere in the United States, with compensation including base salary, possible bonuses and equity depending on experience and location.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Networking, IT, Information Systems, or Telecommunications Engineering, plus two (2) years of related experience.
• Two (2) years of experience with Linux/Unix based OS, REST/JSON APIs, web development core technologies, UI test frameworks, UI build systems, TLS and HTTP, version control and CI tools (Git, Jenkins), software architecture principles, data structures and algorithms, and working in agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement custom web applications, focusing on authentication, authorization, and identity-related products.
• Participate in architecture, design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions.
• Develop new applications and enhance existing systems with new capabilities.
• Contribute to automated test suites including unit, functional, integration, and end-to-end tests.
