Job summary

Rocket Lab is hiring a Senior Software Engineer I to design, build, and scale data platforms that power operational data across the company. Based onsite in Long Beach, CA, you will own core data services from architecture through production support and collaborate with teams across development, testing, production, and mission operations.

You will bring 5+ years of backend software experience, Python expertise, and familiarity with CI/CD, containers, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in Python development and backend architecture.
• Experience deploying services at scale, CI/CD and containerization.
• Strong Git skills for version control and collaboration.
• Experience with Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
• Hands-on experience designing and developing REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Jira or Redmine for issue tracking.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
