Job summary

Allegiant is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to analyze requirements, design, and implement software across our e-commerce and hospitality platforms. You will contribute to middleware layers and REST services, participate in architecture decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The role requires hands-on development with Java, Javascript, PHP, or C# in an n-tier setup, plus experience with testing and modern web frameworks.

Qualifications

• Four years of hands-on development in OO languages (Java, Javascript, PHP, C#, Ruby, Scala or C).
• Four years of full software lifecycle experience (requirements to delivery) in n-tier architectures.
• Three years with REST web services (Java, PHP or Node.js).
• Three years with coding standards (PSR).
• Three years with relational DBs (MySQL, DB2, SQL Server) including stored procedures.
• One year experience with TDD and related testing tools (JUnit/Mockito/Arquillian/JMeter or PHP/Jest).

Responsibilities

• Participate in design discussions and work with lead engineer on technical solutions.
• Develop technical designs for small-medium projects.
• Lead software projects and coordinate with QA/PMO/IT Operations for delivery.
• Lead a team of software engineers on a project.
• Provide technical solutions balancing architectural guidelines.
• Refactor existing designs to align with technology roadmap.
• Design and develop domain data models and database schemas.
• Collaborate with business analysts to capture requirements and draft system narratives.
• Stay updated with Java/JEE, PHP, Node.js frameworks and practices.
• Enforce coding standards and conduct design/code reviews.
• Develop complex SQL stored procedures and queries.
• Resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks.
