Job summary

Alaska Airlines is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert in full-stack software engineering. The role drives large decisions for the product backbone and delivers software on a regular basis within an agile environment alongside product owners.

The position focuses on building scalable, maintainable systems, applying TDD, CI/CD, and modern architectural patterns while coaching teammates and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in software engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer technology or related field.
• Proficiency with cloud computing, check automation, and Git.
• Experience building large-scale, n-tier applications.
• Experience with TDD, unit testing, and pair programming.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on a scrum delivery team to deliver enterprise features.
• Coach and influence teammates on best practices.
• Solve complex technical and enterprise issues with new techniques.
• Architect, engineer, test, deploy, and support scalable applications.
• Write clean code and practice TDD and CI/CD.
