arrivia is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate full-stack features for our travel platform. You will own significant features from design through production, setting a high bar for engineering quality while keeping systems scalable, secure, and reliable under real-world load.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into well-architected solutions, participate in reviews and on-call rotations, and mentor

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and operate features and services across the stack, owning them from design through production and ongoing support
• Build scalable, reliable systems with observability, failover, and operational practices needed to run them in production at scale
• Design and tune low-latency, high-performance services to meet latency and throughput targets under real-world load
• Apply secure engineering practices throughout the lifecycle, safeguarding the privacy and trust of our members' sensitive data
• Make sound architectural and technology decisions for your areas of ownership
• Use AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to increase velocity while holding the line on code quality and security
• Contribute to platform modernization, migrating legacy systems toward scalable, cloud-native services
• Establish and uphold engineering quality standards, SLOs, and operational excellence for the systems you own
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into well-architected solutions
• Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and on-call rotations, and help raise the technical bar
• Mentor and support less-experienced engineers
