Job summary

McKesson Corporation is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive architecture for the EnterpriseRx platform within the McKesson Pharmacy Systems (MPS) R&D group. You will mentor teams, refine designs, and lead Agile ceremonies while collaborating with Product, QA, and Operations to deliver high-quality software.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, domain familiarity with retail pharmacy, and cutting-edge AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

7+ years of software engineering experience; Master's degree with 4+ years preferred.
Strong OO design, RESTful services, and Java proficiency.
Experience with microservices, API-first design, and devops practices.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership across one or more software teams throughout the full development lifecycle.
Architect scalable solutions and refine design requirements with stakeholders.
Lead technical design discussions and code reviews.
Develop and review User Stories; write unit/integration tests.
Remediate defects and improve surrounding code quality.
Mentor peers and establish engineering standards for reliability.
Collaborate with Product, QA, SREs, Architects, and PMs; promote AI integration in SDLC.
Support customers with technical guidance and communicate complex topics to leadership.
Learn domain specifics of retail pharmacy and clinical services.
