Job summary

McKesson Pharmacy Systems (MPS) is seeking a Senior Full Stack AI Software Engineer to design, develop, and deploy cloud-based applications using Java, Angular, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, and Azure. You will work with product managers and engineers to deliver scalable, secure software for critical pharmacy operations with an AI-native SDLC.

You will lead technical design, mentor engineers, and contribute to architecture reviews in a collaborative Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience and typically 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted software development tools and workflows.
• Experience developing web applications using Angular, React, Vue, Next.js, or similar JavaScript frameworks.
• Robust experience designing low-latency agent execution looks that natively manage multi-step tool execution.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including PostgreSQL.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience developing and executing automated tests.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices using modern architecture principles and OpenAPI/Swagger standards.
• Leverage approved AI development tools, including GitHub Copilot and Claude, to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing coverage and efficiency.
• Evaluate AI-generated code for security, performance, scalability, maintainability, and functional accuracy.
• Develop user interfaces and administrative tools that support business workflows and operational efficiency.
• Create scalable, event-driven solutions using technologies such as Kafka and distributed messaging platforms.
• Architect and optimize core AI agent orchestration layer and runtime harness to handle complex, multi-step task execution, model routing.
• Ensure end-to-end quality across user interfaces, APIs, databases, integrations, and event-driven services.
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous delivery best practices.
• Utilize observability and monitoring tools to improve application reliability and production support.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
• Mentor engineers through knowledge sharing, design collaboration, and engineering best practices.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions in an Agile environment.
