SOPHiA GENETICS is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and optimize scalable backend services for the SOPHiA DDM Platform. You will contribute to high-volume data processing and deliver robust integrations with hospital systems.

Join a hybrid Boston-based team, working 3 days on-site and helping advance data-driven medicine in cancer and rare diseases worldwide. You will shape features, performance, and reliability across the tech stack.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a comparable role.
• Solid proficiency in Java for backend services.
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience with public APIs including API definition and change management.
• Proficiency with databases like MySQL, MariaDB, and DuckDB, including design and query optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and continuously improve robust services that are scalable and efficient while fitting into overall system architecture.
• Implement new features across core components, public API and middleware for new integrations with hospital systems.
• Support existing live integrations with customers and propose enhancements based on feedback.
