Job summary

Evolent is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of complex, scalable software solutions. You will architect high-performance APIs and microservices, and collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

The role emphasizes cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), database design for SQL and NoSQL, and mentoring teammates to uphold technical excellence while advancing CI/CD

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience delivering complex, scalable applications.
• Proficiency in C# or Python and familiarity with their ecosystems.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and RESTful API design.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Database design and optimization for SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; able to lead technical discussions.
• Ability to identify ambiguity and reduce ambiguity proactively.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex software solutions with scalability.
• Architect and implement high-performance APIs and microservices for critical functions.
• Collaborate with product, UX, and other engineers to translate business needs into solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, ensure best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote continuous learning.
• Improve the software development lifecycle through automation, testing, and CI/CD.
• Troubleshoot production issues to ensure high availability.
• Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to improve productivity.
• Drive the technical vision and contribute to long-term planning.
