Job summary

Evolent is seeking a Software Engineer to join an Agile team building healthcare‑focused backend software solutions. You will design and develop scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI, and build event‑driven and serverless solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Functions and Azure Event Hub.

You will also develop and maintain data ingestion pipelines that load healthcare data into Microsoft Fabric to support enterprise reporting and analytics needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of software or data engineering experience.
• Strong Python and API development experience.
• Hands-on with Azure data services and ETL tools.
• Experience with PySpark and Spark-based processing.
• Strong SQL and data modeling knowledge.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain data-driven software using Python and modern frameworks.
• Build API-based solutions for scalable integrations.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows with Azure tools.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers in Agile environment.
• Participate in code reviews and CI/CD processes.
• Optimize applications for performance and scalability.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and AI-assisted tooling.
