Job summary

CVS Health’s Oak Street Health engineering team is seeking a Sr Software Engineer to own complex backend workstreams in a healthcare environment, delivering reliable, scalable software that powers patient scheduling, care coordination, and clinical data integrations.

You will design system prompts, build Databricks pipelines, mentor engineers, and uphold test coverage and observability while collaborating with product teams across the CVS Health network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building distributed backend systems in production.
• Proficiency building system prompts and utilizing AI frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB or comparable document stores.
• Track record of leading technical work across a team.
• Experience with cloud-native deployment (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design robust system prompts using LLM frameworks.
• Partner with product teams and business stakeholders to automate workflows.
• Design and implement robust file-ingestion pipelines using Databricks.
• Own a domain or service area end-to-end, including its data model and integration contracts.
• Lead code reviews, set technical standards, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Hold the team accountable for test coverage, observability, and production health.
