Job summary

PENN Interactive is seeking a senior software engineer to design and evolve GraphQL schemas for a federated, server-driven UI. You will develop APIs and client apps using React and TypeScript, ensuring fast, accessible experiences across mobile and web.

You will work with product and design to architect features, monitor performance in DataDog, and mentor teammates through code reviews and documentation. Remote-friendly with international collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with JavaScript/TypeScript in production
• Strong React experience and UX instincts
• 2+ years designing/evolving GraphQL schemas for multi-client products

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve GraphQL schemas in a federated graph
• Develop, scale, and optimize GraphQL APIs, RPC endpoints, and SQL queries
• Build front-end applications with React and TypeScript
• Create fast, accessible web experiences across iOS, Android, and web clients
• Collaborate with product/design to ship customer-facing features
• Set up monitoring in DataDog and improve production observability
• Write thorough tests and strengthen CI/CD pipelines
• Mentor teammates through code reviews and documentation
