Job summary

Placer.ai seeks an experienced Software Engineer with deep GenAI expertise to lead AI product solutions and development. You will drive the technical vision for our AI-powered location intelligence platform, overseeing full-stack delivery from LLM integration to real-time interfaces, building scalable, production-grade AI features and tools.

You will guide architecture decisions, ensure robust evaluation, and collaborate with product, design, and customers.

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering, shipping customer-facing products in production.
Strong full-stack fundamentals: Python, React and TypeScript, SQL, and containerized cloud services.
Strong system design: data modeling, API design, production reliability and security.
Hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered features: prompts, retrieval, tools, memory, evals, failure handling.
AI-native workflows: plan before prompting, test-driven, context-rich agents, safety nets.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with product, design, and customers to define technical direction.
Translate vague requirements into clear technical plans.
Design, build, and ship production features across APIs, data models, services, and UI.
Make architecture decisions balancing speed and maintainability.
Incorporate AI features with robust prompts, retrieval, and tool-calling flows.
Develop evaluation baselines to measure prompts and model changes before shipping.
Protect AI features against data leaks and prompt injection.
Maintain production health with monitoring, tracing, and debugging.
