Job summary

Placer.ai is building PlacerX, the AI backbone for its internal AI stack. We are hiring a Senior AI Software Engineer to design and ship agents, connectors, automation, and infrastructure that unlock productivity across the company.

You will work on Claude, Databricks, and custom MCPs, enabling autonomous workflows and safe, scalable AI usage. This is a fully remote role with collaboration across AI Operations, R&D, Data Science, GTM, and other teams.

Qualifications

8+ years of backend engineering experience.
Prior experience with MCP servers, LLM tool use, or AI agent frameworks.
Strong REST API knowledge and credential management.

Responsibilities

Agent Design & Orchestration: Architect agents that chain reasoning, tool calls and decisions into multi-step workflows.
Tool & Context Layer: provide secure access to systems via MCP servers and internal knowledge sources so agents operate across tools.
MCP Server Development: build and deploy MCP servers for external and internal tools.
Data Platform Engineering: manage Databricks and internal BI for AI readiness.
Usage Tracking & Insights: develop tooling to measure adoption and value of AI tools.
Platform Infrastructure & Cost Optimization: optimize compute, storage, and networking for scale.
Security & Compliance: implement security best practices for AI platforms.
