Job summary

Atlassian is seeking a Senior ML System Engineer for the Rovo GenAI Platform to build and maintain the core infrastructure for ML model development, training, evaluation, deployment, and operation, powering GenAI products.

You will apply software engineering excellence to tackle distributed systems challenges, lead other engineers, and collaborate with internal partners to set expectations and communicate results.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Fluency in at least one modern object-oriented programming language (Java/Kotlin, Python).
• Experience with Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration.
• Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems using AWS services (S3, Kinesis, CloudFormation, EKS).
• Experience with distributed large-scale data processing (Apache Spark).
• Basic understanding of the Machine Learning project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the core infrastructure to allow ML engineers and data scientists to develop, train, evaluate, deploy, and operate ML models and pipelines.
• Power GenAI products in Atlassian.
• Apply software development expertise to solve complex infrastructure challenges and lead engineers on projects from design to launch.
• Collaborate with other teams and internal customers to set expectations, gather input and communicate results.
