Job summary

NGP VAN is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Fundraising & Compliance Engineering team in the US. You will help build and scale tools powering fundraising, compliance, and election readiness workflows with modern stacks including ASP.NET, ReactJS, SQL Server, Azure, AWS, Redis, ElasticSearch, and Auth0 for authentication.

You will mentor peers, own features, design scalable architectures, and apply AI coding tools to accelerate development while ensuring security and performance.

Qualifications

• Significant experience or a strong foundation in software engineering — typically 5 years
• Solid understanding of web scalability challenges and solutions
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to use AI coding tools to enhance your development workflow
• Comfort working independently on complex, less-defined problems and proposing solutions
• Experience mentoring peers and participating in architecture discussions
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Technical Leadership: Participate in system design decisions for complex features and subsystems.
• Mentorship & Code Stewardship: Mentor peers through thoughtful code reviews, design collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
• Feature Ownership: Design and implement features for fundraising, compliance, and election readiness workflows.
• AI-Assisted Development: Apply AI coding tools independently to accelerate complex work and evaluate AI-generated code for correctness.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with product management and cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive solutions.
