Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a seasoned software engineer to join an agile team responsible for building scalable applications across all digital channels. You will take an enterprise-wide architectural view and drive the technical execution using modern stacks to meet platform needs.

The role emphasizes design, development, code quality, and collaboration through all phases from idea to production, with mentoring responsibilities and active participation in Scrum ceremonies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field.
• Master's degree preferred in CS/CE or related field.
• 5+ years in design/analysis of algorithms, data structures, and scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and create engineering specifications for software applications.
• Write code adhering to coding standards and perform code reviews.
• Generate ideas, explore technical solutions, and ensure scalability and performance.
• Participate in all scrum ceremonies and support sprint planning and execution.
• Create and manage stories, DoD, acceptance criteria, and task updates in RTC or Jira.
• Monitor progress against schedule and report issues to leads.
• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
